This is the first ceremony encountered in becoming a member. It describes the Ordeal, a character-development Quest which the candidates begin immediately after this ceremony.
The ceremony centers around the quest of an ancient (pre-historic) hunter. The candidates discover that the four challenges (Ways of living) of their Ordeal Quest are ancient in character, adopted not created by the Order. They are urged to embrace these ancient challenges.
