The Boy Scouts of America has a powerful program called the “Order of the Arrow”. It does not exist in other cultures because of its ties to Native American lore and legend. However, the ideals and methods of the OA transcend Indian lore and national borders.  They are universal. So there is no reason why a similar program cannot be designed for other Scout associations, in other cultures.  This is that program.

We, the Stewards of the Ancient Circle of the Arrow, offer a program based on the ideals of Dr. E. Urner Goodman, the founder of the Order of the Arrow. Instead of an American Indian theme, our program is based on universal worldwide ancient culture. We offer assistance in adopting this program to any Scout organization.  For more information about the Stewardship, go to our About Us page.

The Stewardship, and this website, are not associated with the Boy Scouts of America.

We offer on this website our proposed ceremonies (Pre-Ordeal and Membership), logic behind them, and an explanation of our “Ancient Hunter” theme.  We also describe The Ordeal, our most important event.

How do we intend to pull this off?  With the help of your local Scout association.  For details, see Frequently Asked Questions.

If you are involved with a Scout association and interested in helping your organization to adopt such a program, go to our Contact Us page.

If you seek knowledge of the Order of the Arrow (OA) of the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) (aka Scouting America), you are in the wrong website.  The program described here is similar but different.  This website is not associated with the Boy Scouts of America.
